I have light brown hair that's also naturally straight.

For hair down....
I wash my hair in the evening and then I towel dry it so that it's slightly wet, and then I put it into two French plaits. You have to make sure your hair is wet, but not dripping. Putting your hair in French plaits makes it more curly when you wake up, so to keep it curly, don't brush your hair, just run your fingers through it because other wise the curls will get static and will go frizzy.
If you can't do French plaits, put it into two normal plaits, which will create waves, rather than curls.
So, if you want bigger curls or waves, put it in just one French plait which will put it in bigger curls, or put it in one normal plait, which will create large waves.
I either leave my hair completely down, with no accessories or put it in an alice band - both look nice!

For hair up....
Put your hair into a ponytail but leave the front of it out. There are two ways you can do this. You can pull the front of your hair back over your head as if in a quiff and either leave it flat, or in a quiff. I usually push it up a tiny bit to make it show that your hair is actually back. With that hair in whatever position over your head you want, get two bobby pins and criss cross them over the hair near the top of your head, so it stays up.
OR
part your hair in a side parting and put your hair into a ponytail but leaving a small bit out. Then, when your hair is up, put the loose hair to the side of your head. If you have a left partin, put the hair to the right of your head, and if you have a right partin, put it to the left. Then use a bobby pin to keep it to your head. If you have layers at the front, then if more hairs hang down after the first bobby pin, put another one in further back.

I hope these instructions are clear, and I hope they're okay!

Both the styles are good for school, they are sensible and easy but they also look really nice!

Good luck with them!

When you take a shower (at night) put your hair in about 4 braids in leave them in over night and take them out in the morning and voila :) its got that cute beachy look. If you really get into it I suggest buying Frederic Fekkai Summer Hair spary or Garnier Surf Hair spray.
I have both and they really add a nice touch! Esp when you have cute side bangs to go with itt :)
