Hairstyles for hair that is at about my shoulders and is very curly and poofy and hard to style?

I am wondering if anyone has examples of hairstyles that are really cute and how to make your hair look that way. My hair has curls and is sort of poofy and thick. I like the straight hair look but my iron is crappy and it leaves bumps and it doesn’t turn out right. Please answer I can’t wear my hair in a ponytail forever!

    wow, my best friend has the same problem, i just tell her to braid it! when she braids her hair it makes it look straight, and it’s cute. and sometimes if you put it up in a bun it won’t look as puffy and curly.

    Well personally i love curly hair! i have straight hair but i wish i ad curly lol. Anyway when i did get my hair curld some of my favorite styles were:
    1. bobby pinning my hair to the side and leaving the curls to fall to one side
    2. curly high buns
    3. using mousse to define the curls and wearin them down
    4. wearin it almost half up half down by pinning the sides and leaving the top of the middle almost like a mohawk as it blends into my back hair

    Maybe try going and getting your hair layered and thinned. It helps to keep it under control. And if you are alright with just straight hair, find a salon that gives straight perms. They work like magic. If all else fails try seperating the hair and wearing half up half down, that looks pree cute too.

    I have poofy and curly hair too lol. I like to get mine layered it helps when i straighten it. Also I like to blowdry it , even tho it takes forever, and curl the ends in or out with a big round brush.But if you get it layered it will feel thinner.Longer layers will make it curl more, while shorter layers will give you less curls. If you want some examples look on google or yahoo and just type it in. I love my hair layered and it looks great too. =]

    Hi, I have fairly short, curly hair like you. What you could try is putting some product in it and scrunching it as it dries (After a shower, of course :p) It looks really cute and it stays in really well. Maybe you could get another straightening iron because straight hair would also look really nice (I have a crappy one too, I just use my friends =]) If you don’t have enough money to buy a straightening iron, maybe you could ask for one for your birthday, or christmas, or make some money. You could also try other types of pony tails, high, low, or to the side, there is truly a lot of things you can do with a pony tail. You could take some hair out and let it hang, or put a head band in to decorate it a bit ! Oh and you could also get some type of bangs, side or straight, I’m getting some soon. Good luck ! ;]
